Location: Fort Mackay, Alberta
Heavy Equipment Operator
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the operating of heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner. The Heavy Equipment Operator will perform tasks that have been assigned by the Supervision and will comply with applicable safe work practices and procedures. Other responsibilities include but not limited to completing hazard identification cards, refueling equipment at end of each day, updating FLHA’s throughout the day, completion of ground disturbance and equipment checklists, reporting mechanical problems immediately, keeping machinery cabs clean, follow spotter’s direction, ensure use of the proper attachment for the job and assist other workers with ground-work including lifting, carrying, shoveling.

- Valid Drivers License
- Fall Protection
- Confined Space Entry
- H2S Alive
- First Aid and CPR
- CSTS 2020
- Ground Disturbance Level II or 201 Standard

Labor
“Performs all tasks of general, physical labor such as: shovel, rake, general housekeeping, erect traffic control, snow fence or barricade systems and perform site cleanup as assigned by site supervisor. Assists equipment operators to clean tracks and fuel/grease heavy equipment (dozer, hoe, grader, etc.). Operates plate tampers/jumping jacks and hand tools. Performs spotting duties for equipment and trucks according to training provided by GCS. ”
