Derrickhand

“The Derrickhand is responsible for all work above the drill floor; monitoring and maintaining proper drilling fluid characteristics, the rate of fluid circulation, mud handling equipment and the preventative maintenance program. Safety is the first priority for all drilling rig personnel.”

Requirements:

  • Rig Technician Level 2
  • H2S Alive Certification
  • Rig Rescue Enform Certification
  • Standard First Aid and CPR
  • Confined Space Entry
  • EGSO
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Pass Physical
  • Pass Drug Test

Driller 

“Drillers are the front line supervisors at the rig site. They are responsible for ensuring that proper training, safe work practices, and safe operation of the drilling rig is being adhered to. Drillers operate and monitor the essential systems of the drilling rig including: hoisting, well control, mud and power systems found on the drilling rig. Safety is the first priority for all drilling rig personnel.”

Requirements:

  • Rig Technician Level 3
  • H2S Alive Certification
  • Rig Rescue Enform Certification
  • Standard First Aid and CPR
  • Confined Space Entry
  • EGSO
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Pass Physical

Floorhand 

“The Floorhand is responsible for assisting the Motorhand and Driller on the drill floor and conducting preventative maintenance on rig equipment. Floorhands also assist in the mixing of mud and chemicals, clean and paint as required, assist in moving the rig, rigging up and rigging out.  Safety is the first priority for all drilling rig personnel.”

Requirements:

  • 6 months experience
  • H2S Alive
  • Standard First Aid and CPR
  • EGSO
  • 18 years old
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Pass Physical and Drug Test

Leasehand 

“The Leasehand is responsible for keeping the rig clean, performing general maintenance and housekeeping.  The Leasehand also provides assistance to rig personnel as required.   Safety is the first priority for all drilling rig personnel.”
